L&R UK take on 10K Your Way Challenge
L&R UK are taking on the 10k Your Way Challenge for nurses, midwives and HCA's in need
During the COVID-19 pandemic the support that Cavell Nurses’ Trust gives to UK nurses, midwives and HCAs has quadrupled. Now more than ever, they need our support.
That’s why in the month of May, team L&R UK are taking on Cavell Nurses' trust 10K Your Way Challenge, raising money for nurses, midwives and HCAs in need across the UK. We’ll be running 10 km, walking 10 km, baking 10,000 calories you name it! We will be challenging ourselves throughout the month of May and passing the baton on to as many L&R UK employees as we can. Eventually, working up towards a virtual team run with our families and friends in the last weekend of May.
Paul Grayson, former England Rugby player and L&R leg health ambassador, kicked the challenge off with his commitment to do 10,000 exercises throughout May- that’s 323 different exercises a day! See Paul's challenge below:
Many other employees have already embraced the challenge, committing to do 10K their way…
Rachel Sykes, Head of Marketing UKI has challenged herself to run 10km every day throughout May.
Jez Fryer, Account Manager, West Midlands, did a 10km run at the weekend and donated £1 for every minute that it took him to complete, over 30 minutes. He manged it in 50 minutes and 50 seconds and donated £20.50 towards our target.
Alison McKelvie, Account Manager, Scotland & Borders, is working herself up to running a 10km run at the end of May, with many more employees taking part in their way.
We’ve challenged ourselves to raise £1,000 by the end of May to support the ongoing care that Cavell Nurses’ Trust provide.
