UN Sustainable Development Goals

At L&R we strive to improve all of our performance against each of the SDG’s and have a focus on several as part of our strategy Success plus 2030

The UN’s 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are humanity’s most ambitious plan for a better world.

In September 2015, 193 countries agreed on 17 goals and 169 sub-goals at the United Nations General Assembly. Since the SDGs are designed to end poverty and world hunger, protect the planet and its resources by 2030, they are also called the “2030 Agenda”.

L&R actively incorporates these SDGs into its strategic planning and has also set smart targets for the most relevant SDGs. This makes L&R's sustainability activities clearly measurable.

For us here at L&R we strive to improve all of our performance against each of the SDG’s and have a focus on several as part of our strategy Success plus 2030.

In 2021, we evaluated the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) that we consider essential for L&R until 2030 using a standardized process.

Since 2021, we have focused on four UN Sustainable Development Goals:

SDG 3:       Good Health and Well-being
SDG 7:       Affordable and Clean Energy
SDG 12:     Responsible Consumption and Production
SDG 13:     Climate Action

In these areas, we have made significant progress by 2025 and will continue to expand on our successful initiatives.

In the meantime, we have incorporated four additional goals into our sustainability strategy, which will be at the center of our efforts until 2030:

SDG 4:       Quality Education
SDG 5:       Gender Equality
SDG 8:       Decent Work and Economic Growth
SDG 17:     Partnerships for the Goals

In 2025, we integrated and completed three additional goals into the process.

SDG 6:       Clean Water and Sanitation
SDG 9:       Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure
SDG 16:     Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions
