An open letter from L&R UK sharing our plan in light of the Covid-19 pandemic.
I want to share with you our plan in light of the Covid-19 pandemic. We believe that this plan reflects our motto People. Health. Care and explains how we will do our utmost to continue to support patients and the people at the forefront of providing care for those with venous leg ulcers and other chronic wounds.
We are sensitive to the challenge that the NHS faces at this difficult time and we are currently taking immediate steps to limit contact with healthcare professionals as necessary.
We do however acknowledge and take seriously our role in supporting healthcare professionals to implement self care solutions in this current climate.
The need for the NHS to embrace the self care agenda for conditions such as venous leg ulceration is now critical, to free up vital resource and address the challenge that social isolation presents to delivery of ongoing care.
If you do need help with education or training…
- to get patients into first aid compression while awaiting Doppler
- on wrap systems and leg ulcer hosiery kits when managing venous leg ulcers,
- on reducing daily dressings for highly exuding wounds
We are here for you.
We have also taken the decision to postpone our forthcoming events in partnership with Wound Care People. We will be offering alternative forms of education during this period and we will keep in contact with everyone who registered for the events.
We are also increasing our customer service resource, so we are available over the phone if you or your patients do need us. Our Customer Solutions contact details are:
